Xihua Chu was born on December 22, 1977 in Puyang, Henan Province. He first attended department of engineering mechanics in Dalian University of Technology and obtained his PhD in 2007. Then he went to school of civil engineering in Wuhan University as a lecturer, and was promoted to professor in 2015. Xihua has been working in the field of computational mechanics of granular materials and published over 70 journal papers.
